Our Approach

In the dynamic world of IT, we have successfully supported numerous clients, including SAP Implementations, in achieving their objectives with IT solutions. We understand the challenge many businesses face in transforming IT solutions into practical tools that effectively function across all operations. Our pragmatic approach ensures that the system aligns with our clients’ practices. Through hands-on mapping of activities, we harmonise the system and operations, yielding the desired results and building capabilities within our clients’ teams for future benefits.

Called to Support

Learning4Leaders was enlisted to review the processes of a medium-sized manufacturing business involved in delivering Morning Goods to local businesses. The business operated a sale or return policy, with drivers managing the stock during deliveries.

Review

Learning4Leaders evaluated the existing process and proposed custom-based solutions. Collaborating with a developer, we scoped and tested the system, procured suitable hardware, and provided comprehensive training and implementation.

Challenges addressed included

  • Data management while drivers were on the road, some collecting from the factory and others from satellite locations.
  • Handling changing orders and linking them to the company’s factory planning model.
  • Selecting appropriate hardware; the Windows App solution required specialised software for mobile printing.

Results

Our solution streamlined operations, resulting in the removal of 1.5 staff members and improved customer service due to reduced phone line congestion. We ensured accurate invoicing and credits, leading to enhanced cash flow with up-to-date stock information and timely processing of invoices/credits. Invoicing became precise, and queries were addressed efficiently with easy access to proof of delivery (POD) information.

Additionally, we developed a ‘standard order’ for each customer, allowing real-time adaptation by drivers in each store, optimising production accuracy.

Subsequent development involved creating reporting (Business Intelligence) systems to analyse up-to-date data. This enabled the company to conduct profitability analyses of each driver’s run, track sales and returns, and provide drivers with automated reports to improve stock management and sales performance, thereby reducing wastage.
